Monster Movie Orchestra (MMO) is a story based musical project with cinematic arrangements and production. The songs are written and performed by multi-instrumentalist Jason Taylor of the NY based bands Skyfactor and Noba. This project has been enhanced with the assistance of some wonderfully talented musicians, and engineers, that Jason has met and worked with in his three-plus decades in the music business. Family and friends make some guest appearances in these recordings as well. 

 

Jason is also an award winning architect with the firm Taylor Viazzo Architects. He believes that both music and architecture are at their best when they create engaging experiential journeys. Music becomes sonic architecture. And architecture becomes music to live in. 

 

This website will serve as a hub to find to Monster Movie Orchestra songs and videos.  Future performances will be announced here with ticket sales available. It will be a place to purchase albums and other merchandise including Jason's Architecture book "Dune Modular" published earlier this year.  Mostly, this will be a place to share and explore the creative process that integrates architecture and music. Rhythm and pattern will prove to be the tour guides through both mediums. They diverge when needed, to bring us to new and unexpected places. They point out and enhance special details and flourishes. We will explore how these parts coalesce in the story telling "cinema" of music and architecture.
